Final Fantasy.

What I miss is the simplistic feel of FF.  For instance, dragons, castles, knights in armor.  Flashforward to FFX and they're playing a game inside a bubble.  A bubble that wasn't created by magic, but technology.  It just feels like that was overdesigned.  I mean, in real life if we were to have the technology, would we really stop playing football and have a new past time like rugby/soccer/football in a bubble?  I mean really, how did that future come to be?

I miss the lore of simplier times.  FF13 was just hightech everything.

Final Fantasy VII and VIII both had high tech everything, wasn't a problem in those games.  Though I agree the art direction in XIII was a little too much "Generic anime sci-fi" as opposed to fantasy, it didn't bother me that much.

I agree to disagree. FFVII was the first mainline game in the series that I thought was terrible. I could write a dissertation on the problems with that game. Hell I've done so several times over the past 15 years. I think VIII is a worse game technically, but VII had managed to diminish my opinion of the series greatly.
