i think it didn't help to have only seats nowadays. better to have no riots but not so good to get enough real fans who really care about their club and not only people with money who are fans as long as they see success.
a perfect example in germany is bayern munich, those fans are also boring as hell and that club has the most fans who are only fans because of the success. even a stadium with 15k fans in germany has a better atmosphere as a full bayern munich stadium.
