Nintendo has a "kiddy" image because by and large they are more kid-centric than the other two console makers who market primarily to teenagers/adult males first and foremost. Also most Nintendo franchises that end up defining the platform are cartoony/colorful/Disney-esque in nature. A Ninja Gaiden port with more blood is not going to change that really. It doesn't hurt though.

That is reality only in the mind of Nintendos detractors.
Nintendo has always been a family oriented console aimed at providing something for "everyone". People began mass labling it as kiddie last gen as insult out of spite for its success with the Wii.
Cartoony/colorful in no way equals childish. Its a matter of style and design for those who have more taste in artstyle than whatever looks the most grimy and violent. I think that pretty much defines the difference between Nintendo fans and others. Nintendo fans see more colors and spectrums in gaming.
Nintendo has made very few games that were "aimed" specicially at children.
Their games aren't aimed at age groups. They are aimed at different types of gamers which is why they have such a large variety.

Not sure why you feel the need to try to insult people who aren't necessarily fans of all Nintendo first party games, but whatever floats your boat. The colors thing is just silly.
As for the OP, it seems to me that Nintendo is being very aggressive in going after the core gamer by using overt sex and violence. They're really trying to expand the portfolio of the Wii U in that regard. It's a pretty interesting move. I can't help but wonder if there will be some backlash from the media. I'm sure The Sun will probably try to stir something up.

What insult? I'm just calling it like it is. If its does invole gun/swords and blood then its called kiddie these days.

Oh pretty please rise to my challenges :P
That comment sir, is the stereotype of the classic grown adult core Nintendo gamer to justify their love for Nintendo. Nothing wrong with that, but dont make Nintendo look like something they arent to make yourself feel better.
Its kiddie if there is little effort put into the lor and storytelling. Its kiddie if children can beat the game and adults finish the game with 100+ lives (like NSMB Wii). How the games looks is just the icing on the cake IMO. If its Disney-easue then children is the #1 intended audience. You dont attract adults with bright colors and cute faces unless Nintendo wants to target adults with growing up complexes. Also Nintendo has never made anything M-rated. M rated can range from blood and violence......but it also means the word itself: content and themese not suitable for children. Think about that.
But the first points I feel hold more merit.
Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
