Nintendo has always been a family oriented console aimed at providing something for "everyone". People began mass labling it as kiddie last gen as insult out of spite for its success with the Wii. Cartoony/colorful in no way equals childish. Its a matter of style and design for those who have more taste in artstyle than whatever looks the most grimy and violent. I think that pretty much defines the difference between Nintendo fans and others. Nintendo fans see more colors and spectrums in gaming. Nintendo has made very few games that were "aimed" specicially at children. Their games aren't aimed at age groups. They are aimed at different types of gamers which is why they have such a large variety. |
Not sure why you feel the need to try to insult people who aren't necessarily fans of all Nintendo first party games, but whatever floats your boat. The colors thing is just silly.
As for the OP, it seems to me that Nintendo is being very aggressive in going after the core gamer by using overt sex and violence. They're really trying to expand the portfolio of the Wii U in that regard. It's a pretty interesting move. I can't help but wonder if there will be some backlash from the media. I'm sure The Sun will probably try to stir something up.
