In the West it is a little trickier now. We have seen it with the 3DS and the Vita now and the PSP. We have different taste over here and tablets are through the roof on fire! People do not seem to care what they are missing as long as they have free movies, music and a quick game to play. AMong other things. |
The problem many argue about tablets is while they are appealing they are not primarily used for games. True touch screen can do wonders for a game (see ninja gaiden) but buttons are really still a requirement for playing games. I don't know anyone who uses a phone for gaming as the first thought. Vita was really made for those who want console expiriences on the go. True stuff like angry birds is the example of what a handheld game should be but I don't imagine the audience psp targeted in the first place wanted to play that. Tablets are definitely having an effect though.

That is the problem I have a whole room dedicated to my console experience given you a console experience on a handheld should never be thier primary concern. It should be a concern not doubt but that market is no where a big as they seem to think it is.
