Scuse me?  Final Fantasy XIII was all style, no substance.  "Let's dumb down the battle system so we can make it flashier and more action packed!"  

Final Fantasy XIII was all style, no substance, but, it was still more in adherence to what Final Fantasy was about than Resident Evil. Capcom switched genres from horror to Action after Mikami left.

I disagree. Of course Final Fantasy has been eroding over a longer period of time. Side note: RE4 still had tank controls. They just didn't seem as bad because of the over the shoulder view.
