XII had great gameplay and an amazing world with lots of freedom. The problem I had was there were what appeared to be 2 main characters that didn't seem to matter in any way, nor did I care about them (can you guess which ones? 
). Lots of depth to the story and world but the execution could have been better plus the pacing was all over the place. By the end I'd stopped caring about what I was doing.
