The least harsh (or most intensely focused on rehab) prisons in the world usually have the lowest recidivism rates, right?

I'm sure some Europeans can enlighten me on that point; the US prison system is medieval compared to every prison system in western Europe, but our recidivism rates are way higher

The point here being that "tough justice" has never really prevented crime, not in the history of the first world

Europe is made of many countries and different laws so you have pick one.

For example, Uk has been known to arrest and innocent people defending themselves. Plus there are some that have better conditions whiles others are worst so again it's very vague to confirm this because all laws and places are not the same.

Yea it has prisions with Jobs for inmates learned more and actual make a little money sometimes even encourages them to get a job when they get out because of there first thing working. Plus jails had made a profit. Think this more people defening because they used to the government giving them everything and not questioning anything.

Murderer who strangled his wife will get $20,000 sex change paid for by the TAXPAYER because judge rules 'she' has a 'serious medical need'

  • Robert Kosilek was convicted of murdering his wife Cheryl in 1990
  • In prison, he changed his name to Michelle, sued for the state to pay for a sex change and attempting to castrate herself in custody
  • Today a Massachusetts judge ruled that the $20,000 surgery is the 'only adequate treatment'
  • Prison officials say sex change will make Kosilek a target in prison
  • Historic decision is the first of its kind in the nation

Do people think this is cool and we already pay for there health care?
