I think that Nintendo will do fine regardless of slandering. All Fanboys and those curious will pick one up at launch. I know ppl want the next huge thing, but I think it would be better for the developers if the PS3, XBOX 360 generation stuck around for at least 2 or 3 more years.
It's expensive making games and everyone has just gotten the hang of maximizing the current gen consoles. Now it can only be more profitable from here on out. But introduce another console like the PS4, you create a divide.
With Wii U, ppl are saying it's about as powerful as the current Gen with some bells and whistles. So that would make three consoles that publishers/developers could gain revenue on current gen platforms. I'm thinking we're going to see 2 more years of this before another huge console release.
So, I don't think ppl should slam Nintendo. It's going to make all your favorite game makers more money, which means more games for gamers.
