S.T.A.G.E. Said: last few years? If you talk about Microsofts gaming drought it would from start to finish it will be six years by the end of its life cycle which will be 2015. The first three years were great, fourth was adequete. The rest was Kinect (2010 launch), Halo, Gears. Sony has been on fire since 2009 and still have a stacked list of games clear set to come between now and 2014. Clearlyin 2008 Metal Gear Solid 4 was the banner leader that created the buzz about the exclusives that lead to Sony first party eventually showing its face. Marcus Beer on Invisible Walls has said the PS3 can last until 2014-2015 based purely on internal development at Sony, but Microsoft needs the new Xbox now. I completely agree and they masterfully placed the Halo/Gears development cycle to hide this fact. Sony has already beaten out Microsoft in new IP's created, the next few years will just be nails in the coffin in that respect. Gamespot has already wrote an article about it as well showing the scale of game creation featuring new IP's.

Lets make a list shall we?
Little Big Planet Karting
Playstation Allstars Battle Royale
Last of Us
Final Fantasy XIII Versus
The Last Guardian
Dust 514
Ni No Kuni (Extremely excited for that. So underrated!)
Beyond: Two Souls
God of War: Ascension
Sly Cooper: Thieves in time.
This is not even including the PSN games Sony is investing in.
Yes, these games might not do Halo numbers but will a lot of games will gain attetion with the drought of games towards the end of the gen. I feel bad for Ni No Kuni because as a person who grew up with Spirted away and Princess Mononoke those were epic, even classic movies that went under the radar and the same studio is making a game now with Level 5. I can't wait. There are so many experiences it has to be respected even if you dont like them. In all I am sure they will see a respectable amount for Sony. If Versus can come out before the 2014 its sales will speak for itself. The last Guardian and and God of War will sell at least three million copies for sure. Beyond will probably get around 1.5-2 million. Quantic Dream is building a decent fanbase on the PS3 and Hopefully it grows even more. Again.. in my eyes Microsoft can have two great multiplayer games, but to me Sony have 10-15 great experiences. Eventually those games create identity for the console. Anyway im out for a little bit.
