DLC will eventually come to all games and Nintendo doesn't seem to be any worse than the average company.
On the "quality" of New Super Mario Bros. 2, I think the core problem is Nintendo has made too many Mario titles recently; and the complaints about "quality" are more about fatigue.
2) I think issues like this are often over-stated. The average person buys 2 to 3 games for the console they own in a given year, and they're less aware of who manufactures a given game; so few really notice being "abandoned".
3) About 0.1% of gamers even know about these features because they have little/no interest in importing games from other regions. Even if they did investigate the possibility, the prices (often 2 to 3 times as expensive as local games) will prevent people from buying these games.
