If this is true, I'm curious to see to what extent will they cut back on to be able to sell at $99 and see some, if any profit. A slightly cheaper processor, and a cheaper screen doesn't look like it will be able to do the trick.
Perhaps we'll see a custom Android for it, more like the new Kindle; full of ads.
Imo, Google just needs to phase out the 8gb, make the 16gb $199, and release a Nexus 9 or Nexus 10 that's fully suited with all inputs and features for $399 tops.
