Who is going to buy the trilogy?

After all, the games have been out for a while. And is it worth $60 to play the first game on PS3?

Is that not the same argument being used against ME3 on the Wii?

That is what makes ports just a risky proposition when they are not close in time.

Personally, I have no interest in ME3. I just want the NFS to come out on WiiU.

I will, seeing as I never owned the original or ME3 AND you dont have to buy the trilogy for PS3 just to play part 1, the game will be available as a standalone on PSN FYI. Its not the same argument at all, your comparing a collection to one single game, a single game that is being sold at full price at that.

A few more thoughts (all sales numbers from VGC).

* A total of 2.67M (ME1), 2.97M (ME2), and 2.46M (ME3) units of Mass Effect games worldwide on X360. So there might not be a big market on that console.

* The PS3 versions have sold 1.19M (ME2) and 0.93M (ME3). So there is a potential market of people who did not pick up the series because they could not play the first game.

* The lower sales of ME3 might mean the series is in decline -- which is also not good for the WiiU version.

* Compelation triologies can be risky. For example Metroid Prime 3 sold 1.63M worldwide on Wii while Trilogy two years later sold just 0.66M (with no sales listed in Japan).

* The games are listed as being compatable with other versions so people can play on line. There is no metion of save file compatability though it appears to be assumed (But it was not present for MP3 on Triology on the Wii so it is not guaranteed).  And Bioware has been silent about DLC -- which means it probably is NOT included (but that DLC for ME3 is on the WiiU version).

* The PS3 version is "at a later date." That coud be a week, a month, or a year from the X360/PC release.  My guess is that it is at least after Nov. 20 which would mark the five-year anniversary since ME1 released.
