Animal Crossing (big deal) and Mario Kart (equally big deal) took a full year to release. Brain Age (big deal as well) was over a year after release. The rest of those titles were either minor or modest releases. Oh, you meant in the west? Yeah, I agree.

Mario 64 had to keep things going until Nintendogs became a major hit. But the DS sold more on 1st party games in the beggining, obviously, but things like the, then novelty, touch games was the real cause of its success. Even games like Learn Magic Tricks or Tamagotchi sold extremely well.
