yep SATA 2.5inch, hwoever from what I herd you may need to buy the hdd bracket? I think that was probably BS rumor as it make no sense to ship a PS3 without it.

As I said, my main concern is that the hdd is now under the disc drive, I hope the heat from the hdd does not cause disc malfunctions.

I'm not sure of the validity of the rumor but there are laptops that don't come with the extra bracket for a second hard drive. Why? So the manufacturer can overcharge for the bracket.
