I think that the release of next generation of Sony/Microsoft consoles will be determined by how well Nintendo does in taking market share from it's competitors. Personally, I would like the next generation to take 2-3 more years, but that may not happen. The ball is on Nintendo's court; it has the power to force Microsoft/Sony to release early depending on it's success.
