Will the Wii U's graphical capabilities ever be fully utilized?

I'm concerned because of how underutilized the Wii tech was. Virtually every Wii game looks like they could've ran on the GameCube, despite the Wii being more powerful, and no Wii game is more technically impressive than the GameCube Rogue Squadron games.

I just don't want to see history repeated. It bugs me to see such potential go to waste...

I understand but give the wii u some time, i personally want to see Bayonetta 2 showcasing amazing visuals, but the games that will show power on the wii u are the ones that are starting development today, those that we'll see in 2/3 years.

I'm still wondering why we haven't seen any footage of Bayonetta 2, but my eyes are on it regardless. Personally I think if any game is going to show what the Wii U is truly capable of both artisticly and technically... it's the next 3D Mario game. Which we don't know anything about yet, but I'm desperately hoping for a 2013 release date. If Nintendo releases a game in the next 3 years that really crushes the current generation of graphics, I'll be amazed, and I will laugh at myself for once again doubting Nintendo.
