Well, don't you sound grown up. I'm trying to get to the facts, regardless of the outcome. So just because I'm defending the information that makes the Wii U seem less powerful, it doesn't mean that I'm anti-Nintendo or anything like that. Why do you think Wii U is so easily backward compatible? Enhanced Broadway architecture is the most obvious answer, which is codenamed Espresso... Project Cafe ring any bells? When you put all the information together, it makes the most sense.

It's easily backwards comaptible because that's part of IBM's Power architecture design. Each new specification contains all the instruction sets from the previous specification.
And the problem Tecmo is having is simply that the Wii U CPU is clocked lower. And this was to be expected given teh tehrmal enveolope of the chassis. This sounds like he's trying to run code without optimizing it for the newer instruction sets. The Wii U CPU can do more per clock cycle and the eDRAM should also allow it to handle more tasks. If he's getting fewer onscreen enemies, that means he's trying to push the same code though with as little change to it as possible.
In other words, he's trying to rush to meat the launch deadline and doesn't have time to learn the intricasies of the new PU.

Wait have the old PowerPC modifications and Nintendo's custom 50+ SIMD instructions been rolled into Power?

No, but that's where the customization comes in. Just because it's backwards compatiable doesn't mean it must be the same CPU just clocked higher as TheShape is trying to have us believe.
All the newer Power ISA's always include the ISA from the pervious specification. So all the modern Power Architecture CPU's have the older instruction sets from the Power and PowerPC line included.
How about we take in the fact that IBM doesn't even have a 45 nm PowerPC 750 production line to begin with. The only 45 nm PowerPC production line they have is PowerPC A2.
