Wii U won’t make Achievements Mandatory for all games.

I suspect the legitimate few complainers are primarily worried that those achievements can't/won't be broadcast to your friends. What's the point of Achieving something in a videogame if you can't show it on your internet connection to people on your buddy list?

Apparently there will be an option for developers to let players share their achievements via Miiverse. In other words, achievements won't be distelled into a score or a trophy count, but if you get an achievment you're actually proud of, you can still brag to your online pals.

Not saying it's good enough, but it is what it is.
