The new slim looks better in my opinion. Viewing the system from the front (because that's often the most viewed angle) it is very nice looking. It is flush from left to right since it doesn't have the cut in where the older models have the disk drive. The grooves are reminiscent of the PS2 and provide an aesthetically divide on the top instead of one solid swath like on the other models. The size is most definitively a bonus for the device the others do not have and it most likely is using less power and runs quieter (unless reading a disk). The sliding mechanism is a welcome decision as opposed to the pop top in the PS2 slim, it works as I would expect and I feel you can't beat the mechanical process of switching disks if you have ever experienced waiting for disk to pop out that is stalling. Standing up it apparently opens up even smoother than lying down, which is fine by me considering how nice it looks standing up. Again I mention it's view front the front, hell, even from the side it has a nice oval appearance moreso than the others.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
