For a long time after I purchased my Xbox 360, it was a lot of fun to get achievement points. Especially because I had a running contest with my friend to see who could get more.
But after a while I noticed that I was playing games in a way that would get me more points instead of playing in a way that was more natural for me. So I've done a complete 180 on achievements and trophies.
I'm shocked by the response from some that the lack of achievements is a deal-breaker for them. They really are superfluous.
