The way I see it is this.
As a company, I dislike Apple. Each year they realise a slightly different iPhone with another £100 put on top. The changes they make are often pretty small or unnecessary. They then charge you for a new charger, new this, etc.
Samsung is a more customer-friendly company. Any of you who have heard of the Samsung Canada Dinosaur Custom Galaxy S3 - http://technabob.com/blog/2012/08/29/samsung-gives-fan-free-galaxy-siii/ - will understand. Samsung specs are generally better with the Galaxy SIII and I think it looks better.
When it comes to App Store vs Android Market, the App Store is generally more user friendly- but that is variable.
As it stands I prefer Samsung to Apple.
HOWEVER, then we get to the operating system. IoS is the clincher. It is by far superior to anything else I have come across.
So it looks like I'll be buying an Iphone...
oh but wait- THEY'RE CHARGING THAT FOR IT!!
