At least it led to some entertaining stealth trolling of 360/PS3 games with people claiming that achievements/trophies add replay value to games that otherwise wouldn't have it. In other words, achievements/trophies make you forget that a lot of games actually suck.

Yeah, I guess most of those games are not enough a rich experience without some kind of incentive for replaying them.
