Hmm... I think wfz was right and maybe you probably don't want to admit it.

Given what we know: the game being canceled - we sort of extrapolate what happened behind the scenes: Nintendo swooping in the save it > gave Platinum the funding they needed which Sega could not provide > Nintendo locks up exclusvity as a condition.  That story makes sense.  And that being as it is, how can you still blame Platinum and Sega?  Even making up your own scenario to justify your disappointment (i.e: Platinum went to Nintendo).  Sega couldn't publish it themselves, they already said they wanted to take fewer risks, save money, focus on their own franchises, and pulled their support from the Bayonetta 2 project!

I don't think the decision to make it exclusive was Platinum's decision at all.  I think it was Nintendo's (especially consider they are PUBLISHING it).

You can try to envision any scenario you want, but nothing you said is consistent with want we actually know to be true.

You can check my original post, I'm indifferent about Nintendo having this game on their platform

How do we know Bayonetta 2 was cancelled? How do we know Sega could not provide funding?

And Bayonetta sold 1+ million copies, how do we know that Platinum and Sega didn't make enough money from that game. If they didn't make any money from that game I don't think they would make a sequel, and I don't think Nintendo would be publishing the sequel if the original didn't make money.

The IP is owned by Platinum Games and Sega alone. Its ultimately their decision to allow Nintendo to publish their game. How can it not be their decision to publish the game?

What have I said is inconsistant with what we actully know to be true?

Ultimately I think Platinum Games and Sega should've approached a multiplatform publisher. Even if Nintendo approached them first, it dosen't matter how much money they offered I don't think they should have allowed exclusivity. But I think it might only be a timed exclusive, I'm not sure what Sega is doing in this? Are they also publishing, I don't know.
