How much did you expect it to be? Its a new console. The Vita costs between £220 and £250, if anything the Vita will now look even more ridiculously expensive when a "next gen" WiiU is launched with a price beginining with the same first digit.

Totally agree. I will now compare the PS2 to the wii u to show how things have or have not changed... kind of.
In 2000, the bestselling PS2 launched for £299.00 in the UK. I think it cost $299.00 in the US.
I cannot confirm the PS2 launch europe prices but googling comes up with anything between 390 and 500 + euros.
12 years later and another console launches at roughly the same price in the UK and Europe ( and you get "two" consoles ).
I honestly don't see a problem with this.
If anything the Americans are getting a poorer deal now with the wii u than they did with the PS2 ( if my info is correct ).
I am just saying if that launch price didn't do the PS2 much harm over a decade why should it be a problem for the wii u now? Is it the current economic climate?
If so god help the next xbox and PS which I am guessing will cost more, maybe significantly more.
