Yeah the launch is about less than 2 months and I'm pretty Nintendo did give an estimate on how much preorders retailers could take. Retailers stopped taking pre orders as soon as Nintendo called them to stop. If Nintendo calls them again and get the green light to get retailers to accept moire preorders again then that's a good sign for people tha wants to reserve.
