Not bad, pretty much what I expected of it, especially since it's not just an RF signal like the Wavebird was and you're constantly streaming video and/or data to the screen.

I remember when the Wavebird was originally released Nintendo stated it only had a range of like 20-25ft or something and people were flipping out. Then I actually bought one, and I could play games with no latency through walls. Outside of my house. Me and a friend tested it once and it worked up to around 50 ft away from the console.

The only thing that bothers me is that Ninty said the battery only lasts 3-5 hours, which is decent I guess but man, expect to be tethered to a wall outlet alot if you tend to game for lengthy sessions at a time.

Where does your 3-5 hours come from.  3-5 hours was for the 3ds.  The tablet is not rendering the graphics and is bigger than the 3dsXL so more space for a battery and less usage of power.  Im pretty sure it will be at least 10-15 hours

It comes from their official E3 briefing back in June, and was reiterrated at their Thursday launch conference in NYC.  I know it's not rendering graphics, but it's constantly streaming video and info and displaying it, it's got a camera, gyro and motion controls, and you're gonna be using the thing constantly with just about every thing you do on the Wii U from playing games to watching TVii.

10-15 hours are you nuts?!

Why nuts? My  DSlite lasts around 15hours and is smaller therefore has less space for a battery.  The DSLite is also 6 years old and battery technology should have improved. I just guessed that a device that is no gaming device which has far more space for a huge new battery than a DS or 3DS  would last longer somewhere between a DSlite and 3DS.  And btw my Lenovo tablet has more technology than the gamepad and lasts like 8 hours while I watch HD movies on it and have everything (wireless etc) turned on its screen is also 7" and because its a device on its own its running apps etc in the background. So there is no excuse for this they ever dont care about a better battery  or have no idea how to have efficient code running on the gamepad.

If it really lasts 3-5 hours  the controller  is def. useless crap. This shows that Nintendo still is a stupid company that cant even do 1 thing right....  cut your salary for a year god dammit and stop saving money on important things like a f**ing 5  dollar battery.....  its unbelievable....

This would prevend from buying a WiiU  but a friend of me is giving me one for free so I wont complain anymore  it still really sucks tho. Its as stupid as the Ac adapter-less  3dsXL in europe....

Man I just found out the 360 controller lasts 56 hours with a single pair of batteries. PS3 with its lithion ion battery lasts around 18 hours and Wii lasts around 36 hours with a pair of batteries.
