I don't think there's a lot they can do. The systems are too old, and new game releases won't make a huge difference. A price cut could help make the systems look more favourable over the WiiU, but even this will do little.
It isn't a 3DS/Vita Japan launch scenario. Nintendo nailed that by having the cut price earlier in the year to combat it (even if it wasn't favourable for early adopters), but most importantly, releasing Monster Hunter that week. Neither Sony nor Microsoft can pull that this time.
