Well I think the real issue is the lack of loyalty from Platinum Games to their fans. It wasn't Nintendo or Wii fans that made Bayonetta a success, yet they get the sequel?
I'm gonna presume this is a timed exclusive and the HD twins are going to get an improved version. If this stays a Wii U exclusive then Platinum Games is going to lose a lot of fans.

Didn't read the initial post, hm?
There was no sequel. Sega said no. There wasn't going to be. Nintendo was responsible for it getting done. Fan loyalty doesn't mean squat if you can't make the thing in the first place.
Nintendo should keep it exclusive. They brought it back to life, after all.

Sega likely canceled it about 2/3rds of the way through production, earlier this year when the company underwent a restructuring that supposed saw a lot of games and functions of the company eliminated. Nintendo then intervened, having a contact with the studio over The Wonderful 101, offering to publish the game under their helm. Sega's assent was only needed because the Bayonetta IP is owned by that company.

Aye, which is good. Sega gave Nintendo their assent and the game got made all the way. Kudos on the smart business decision by Nintendo and Platinum Games gets a revenue stream that enables them to continue getting paid and making good games. That's pretty much win win.
