Cartridge could barely hold what IV and VI had to offer. No way they could fit FFVII on it without completely downsizing it(2D sprites, lower res background art, less text, etc).

Sure, let's completely ignore that the N64 could handle 3D and still ran on cartridges...

This.  I don't know why you seem to be hung up on the idea that FF7 would have come out on SNES.  Thats ridiculous.  It was in heavy development on the N64 though.  And there's video of a FF7 style game running on N64 hardware.  N64 catridges had a capacity up to 64 mb.

That character model style look familiar?  Just like FF7.  You know why?  Because FF7 was under dev for N64 first.  To save texture space they used shaded colors on the character models.  FF8, which was designed from the ground up for playstation, uses a completely different style of character.

I am confused as to whether you believe FFVII capable of being put on N64 as is or not. FFVII was suppose to be on the system but Square decided they were sick of sacrificing, and opted to go all out. Which meant they had to either downsize the game to be playable on cart or move to PS1. We know how that story ended...
