So we all know that companies like Nintendo etc. tend to just make a 1:1 conversion of the prices. When it comes to USD/EURO conversion. And totally ignore currency values.
Or in case of the 3DS "lie" and make it a "price set by individual retailers". Which just hides the fact they still give them a recommended price to sell at and just helps them that noone can point at them and say "Why do you make the thing so expensive here?!" so they can answer "We didn't make it expensive the retailers did!"
We still have no retail price for Europe but one for the US.
The white version of the console "the basic" bundle will cost USD299.
The black verison of the console "the premium" bundle will cost USD349.
So that would translate into a European price of
299 Euros or USD387.30 for the white and...
349 Euros or USD451.85 for the black version.
And the controller which is said to be half the price of the console would cost 150 Euros or USD 193.65
There still is the problem with VAT but its not + 29% like the price difference is.
(at least its better than the +44% price difference when the 3ds launched)
And "Europeans earn more money" is also bullshit because it depends on where you live etc. And people who come up with this never say "Japanese earn more money than the average European" so the whole argument is useless. Especially when the black version of the WiiU would translate into "only" USD 418 for Japan and not USD452 like it might cost in Europe! (Well let's forget about this now.)
So what do you think? Will WiiU cost 350 EURO /~USD450 for the black version?
Or do you think it will be cheaper?
Discuss please!
P.S.
I will get a WiiU as a present so I dont have to buy one but the possibility of this happening still bothers me.
