Dude, asymmetrical gameplay simply means the person with the wiiupad having a different display and/or task to those using wiimotes/classic controllers. This has a lot of potential for some classic multiplayer larks.

The address to me as 'dude' seems to give across an irritated vibe. I hope that's not the case.

Anyway, what are some ways in which this asymmetrical gameplay could be utilized? As you can see, I'm not very familiiar with it.

I'm far too old to get irritated ;)

Here's some of my ideas:

1) two player FPS games with separate screens so you can play without seeing what each other is doing (only way to do this currently is via crazy lan set-ups)

2) exploring different parts of an RPG world in two player co-op mode - this could be done in games like Resi where say, the floor caves in and one of the players falls through on their own - or some such.

3) being two different players in sports games... say a goalkeeper and a striker - two different displays

I'm sure we could think of loads more.

Nintendo have devised a few things, such as one player being able to see the entire map and others less so - a kind of run/catch game and one player being able to see all the characters whereas the others have to point their remotes at him/her to find them - look at the  Animal Crossing and Luigi Mansion minigames in Nintendo Land...
