Yeah, just felt a bit like a waste...

As for difficulty, have you done all of the side chapters and Arena battles? I did and never once had a difficult fight, bar maybe the last one (though the eyepatch kid's Big Bang made short work of that...), you just need to plug away really!

The second Gurak Fortress part, as in the castle where it's mostly just civilians being slaughtered? I actually liked that part. A bit on the nose, and toned down, but that's pretty much what's been happening in Iraq/Afghanistan for the last decade.

One difficult fiht that comes to mind for me was in Turret Basement where you fight enemies using the floor-damages-you spell on a spiral staircase. Getting to the end to kill the mage without dying was a pain.
