I must disagree. He said some silly things from time to time but it was because of his ambition. There would be no Nintendo if not for him. The bad moments were rare and the good were plentiful. Hell, you could say that gaming as we know it would not exist if not for him.

He gets my respect despite his few slip ups.

Nah, as of the Cube era he was almost always constantly wrong. Wrong on the importance of graphics, wrong on the appeal of RPGs, wrong on the importance of online, just wrong wrong wrong.

As much of a great leader he was, as much as I'm glad he's gone. Nintendo of today doesn't need him anymore.
