Wii U is capable of these technical acheivements with 2D games. But there is nothing in this intereview that would indicate that it's able to do the same with a AAA 3D game. This thread isn't going to do anything but take certain sentences out of context and uneccesarily get people's expectations up. If Wii U was capable of 1080p 60fps on all games, then why would Nintendo cap all its 1st party games at 720p? Use your heads, people. |
Pikmin 3 started as a Wii game so it's kind of understandable the game won't be 1080p.
NSMB U doesn't have any excuses, they could very easily make the game 1080p but Nintendo obviously wants to sell the game along with the launch of console so that means there is no time to make it high resolution, and NintendoLand is probably the same.
Those are the only first party games I can think of, hopefully later next year we'll see 1080p games running at 60fps (if the Wii U is truly capable of doing so)
