This is incorrect.  X360's upscaling is hardware-based, whereas PS3 is software.  There is an extra cost, but it's quite insignificant.

The X360's emulator is still software based, not hardware.   The X360 does not contain an Xbox inside it.

I misread your post, I was thinking upscaling/output instead of backward compatibility.
