will the wii u be able to upscale wii games?

B/C will be hardware based, not software based like PS3/X360.

Yes, and the choice to go that way for B/C is a bonehead move.  I'm also not convinced that B/C is entirely hardware based. Especially since the wiiu is supposed to be cheap at launch, and including hollywood and broadway extra would increase the cost. One reason PS3 was so expensive at launch was because each PS3 had a PS2 inside.  I don't think that is how Nintendo is working their B/C.
