SS is the lowest selling console Zelda bar Majora. You may argue it's a good game, but you can't argue it's "the right" balance between hardcore and casual because that's a sales oriented statement and SS doens't hold up.

Skyward sword is obviously not gonna be the best selling Zelda. However it seems to be undertracked and it's not done selling just yet.

It will get a nice boost from Wii U release also. I can see it reaching wind waker level.

Yeah, if Nintendo is smart, they can do some kind of rerelease of SS. A bundle pack of a remasterd HD version with a wiimote+ or something like that. 

Sadly, Nintendo appears eaither not to be that smart or doesn't have the resources to go updating or repackaging older games - but i wish they did.
