That is more a daily consumption for most the people she is referring to in Aus.

The tax needs to be cut, as they just introduced an outragous carbon tax worth about 7BN a year to the government.

The lower wage will most likely increase now that the first $18,000 is not taxible, meaning all part time workers will demand a pay rise as they know they won't be taxed.

I was thinking she was saying that wages should be lowered in general, not just in Australia, oops!

But I'm not sure what you mean by your first sentence.
