| Soundwave said: You really think Nintendo is going to sell a device that has all the costs of a handheld (large 6+ inch LCD touchscreen + ion lithium battery + gyros + speakers) and the costs of a console (main console CPU/GPU/power supply/motherboard/RAM/disc drive) which is likely more powerful than a Vita + 3DS combined for $30 more? |
@bolded: Well, the WiiU Gamepad is not an independent game-playing machine, so it certainly doesn't have all of the costs of a handheld game system. But no, WiiU won't be $200.
OT: To anyone who is suggesting that Nintendo could make a SKU available that did not include a WiiU Gamepad, that will never happen. Nintendo is selling this console with the screen controller principle in mind, and they will make sure that every WiiU owner has this functionality out of the box for the sake of this design philosophy.
