Remember, Sony were sitting on mountains of money from the PS1 and PS2 back in 2006, and look where loss leading got them then. It took three years to get themselves out of that hole. The PS3 took a much bigger loss than huge, and the R&D costs and investments in CELL account for it's loses than the loss on each system. That said, you're right. Ninty have no real reason to, especially when the other next gen consoles will be arriving in a year and that should be the target for a big price drop. |
