There's nothing really wrong with what she said and I'm not rich.

I came from very poor background... i.e homeless a couple times. I worked my ass off as did my wife. We both now have Master level educations and a family income of six figures USD.

During college I did not go out and party each night/weekend, I did not join a dumb ass frat house.. don't need to pay to have friends... instead I worked 40hrs a week at retail and busted my ass in a computer lab.

Worked hard early to play more later. :)

Nah. If you think about it for a little bit longer you would consider that opportunity for all is a myth. If everyone worked hard (and many, if not most do), worked clever, invested to the same degree then the finite wealth would be distributed equally (if we assume that there were no blocks or issues with the structures that exist - which, of course, they do). Only in these mythical circumstances would this occur and then the same wealthy self-justifiers (bit of guilt as well as selfishness in that statement of hers, perchance?) would cry about communism or some such.

Take someone in Africa in the middle of a drought - do they just need to work harder?

I don't deny that getting qualifications, looking actively for opportunity, working long hours, not giving up will work for many people, however.

However, everyone can acheive inner wealth, which blatantly this corpulent creature has not achieved. Working hard for the sake of wealth is insane. Working hard for the sake of joy, love and glorious revelling in the beauty of life and creation, however, is awesome.

Excpet...wealth isn't finite.  Where did you get such an idea?   Wealth is not, a zero sum game.

When someone gets richer, someone else does not need to get poorer.

In such a society as you talk about above.   Nobody would be "rich" in terms of having more money then somebody else... yet just about everybody would be rich, compaired to people in our society.

Material wealth on this planet is finite. Obvious truth based on finite resources. Not everyone can have a car, for example. We will run out of plastic, oil, gold and so on. So, yes, wealth is finite.

Yes.
