| Train wreck said: I am still trying to wonder who the Wii U is exactly targeted at. If they are trying to get the core and the casual, Electronic Arts has to play a pivotal role in securing the hardcore gaming fan who buys 10 million+ copies of FIFA, 6 million maddens etc, it cannot weaver. Without them or continued major 3rd party support, then half of the Wii U stragedy fails. |
EA is already supplying all of their sports games with 1 or 2 ports at least.
It is getting support from Ubisoft and Activision. As it stands it isn't supreme, but they have the support of the biggest 3 companies. On the Japan side, thier focus is more handheld related but we know Square Enix is giving Dragon Quest X again.
In terms of the target audience, it should be obvious that it is more casual players first. NSMBU (important bridge game) Wii Fit U, and Nintendoland are all dedicated to them. There are also a few other minigame collections coming near launch window. In 2 weeks, we'll know everything about the launch and strategy.
