I wander what they mean by rocky start on X360 and PS3. Specifically, what games didn't meet the expectations commercially?

Off the top of my head I can only come up with one EA early generation game, MoH Airborne, that was a huge failure.

"It was a big jump last time,

1) we went from standard def to high def,

2) we went from very unconnected boxes to online service models

3) we saw a big jump in processing power

4) and frankly we made a couple of mistakes in how we built our technology that was going to build all these games out. [Engine]"

"Fortunately, we have a very different approach to technology now - we have an engine called Frostbite, that is a proven engine that we've shipped a lot of games on, that's tailor-made for next gen hardware. So we're in really good shape from a technology standpoint which is where we had our misstep last time, and we have a much richer and broader set of IPs than we did on last generation."

So yeah, what game was technologically not up to par from EA early in this gen?

It is just that they collectively lost market share to Activision at the start of the gen. Activision and EA being the two biggest publishers. Take Two would be third i'd assume.

Yes, but I still don't see what that has to do with EA having Frostbite in the coming console gen transition.
