In one or two weeks 3DS will reach 3M YTD.
It's roughly 75% up from last year YTD but only 17% year-over-year (weekly sales).
It holds the 56% of the sales this year.

Last year it sold 4,282,143, at this point needs only 1,361,489 more to reach the same mark with 18 weeks left.
It needs an average of 75,638 per week to do the 4.3M last year.

The 3DS should pass the PS3 in lifetime sales this year as well. Next year the Wii and the year after the PSP. That is if things go well and no third party conspiracy materializes.

Let's see:

To pass PS3, 3DS needs 1,187,333 units. So it's fair to say it will happen at end of november or in one of the crazy december weeks.

To pass Wii needs 5,330,397 units. At October 2013 at the latest seems probable. Maybe as far as November.

To pass PSP needs 12,064,945 units. At December 2014 at the earliest I would say.
