All of this WAS true at the time the Wii version came out - it does not matter what eventually happened, what matters was what was known at the time the WIi version came out - and what was known at that time was that the HD version will be available with online, minus one mode, and FOR FREE to anyone buying it together with NBA Elite 11. Now tell me this would not kill the momentum for any game... Eventually what happened was that NBA 11 was delayed/cancelled, so they sold NBA Jam as a standalone with all the bells and whistles, in HD, including the Wii mode (and with online) at the same price as the Wii game. |
People were getting mad before the game was even confirmed for PS360, it was first leaked with that ESRB rating chart, why would they get mad at that? Then more people got mad when it was to be bundled with NBA Elite, lets look at the big picture here that was done so as to give incentive for people to buy their game over NBA2k, not as a way to screw over Wii owners, its not always about you guys, and no it wasnt free you still would have to have bought the game.
I will agree that it was kind of messed up in the end, i didnt know the HD version had all of the content. But lets be real its not like it was all rainbows and peaches for the HD version either, it was released later and a cheaper better version of that was released even later on PSN/LIVE. It going multi didnt kill the hype, the fact that it had no ads and was stealth released was what killed it. the who situation was messed up, no matter what the system
