I agree! Nintendo SHOULD make their conside comparable to Sony and Microsoft's non-existant "720/PS4" so they can get in 2nd or 3rd place, just like Microsft and Sony, instead of the 1st place they managed with the Wii.

The 3rd party problem on the Wii is their own blunder, not Nintendo's. 

When I say comparable I'm not talking about making an expensive console simply one that is in the same ball park as that of their competitors so that it can be a viable platform for next gen games running on more sophisticated engines like Unreal Engine 4 for example.

You can look at things and say that 3rd parties have to accomodate Nintendo but I think it's more realistic to say that it's a two way street and if Nintendo wants better 3rd party support next gen then it seems reasonable that they should meet the developers half way.
