I think the reason for the bashing is the major shifts in the market, and some people whine while other people gloat, both much more frequently than before. There is no winner or looser in this; no side(s) /isare any better or more mature, really.
Sites like this didn't exist last gen, which shows how many and how strong emotions are attached to this gen imo.
