Unity is a very cheap engine that's gaining lots of traction in the developers world. They are disrupting the Unreal Engine market, with huge marketshare in the iOS/Android world, and it's probable that they will gain marketshare in the pc/handheld/home console in the next years. Very easy to use and to compile to different targets, isn't as powerful as other engines, but it's a very cheap and good enough alternative.
