The Metroid Prime games in my opinion are amazing games, and the first Prime is one of my top 10 favorite games of all time. The appeal of Metroid however will never be close to that of Halo. Metroid Prime appeals to a certain hardcore demographic, while Halo appeals to a larger hardcore base plus a good deal of casual gamers. I think MP3 could bring some hardcore gamers over to the Wii, expecially if the controls end up being ground breaking. Nintendo's goal is probably to have MP3 be the best selling Metroid game ever, which is reasonable. Sure it won't come close to Mario or Smash Bros, but if sells 3-4 million world wide I think Nintendo would be very happy.
